Bespoke Accountancy
Web Design Service the only way to go if you're serious
about utilising the Internet in marketing your accounting services
Do you have
a special service or angle on accounting and/or financial consulting?
Some concept that is much needed out in the market but which
competitors haven't realised?
Or have you
an idea of some outsourcing service or some other valuable service
you could provide to a wider area or nationwide?
If so, this
may be the way to make your concept understood AND acquire a
continuous flow of interested contacts for it.
This article
is about web design and we also offer our services in creating
content-rich web sites for various purposes to financial consultants
and accounting firms, such as finding prospects for specific
accounting services, outsourcing (bookkeeping, payroll, other
compliance services) and so on, as explained further down the
page.
This service
works for anyone offering a specialised service to a sizeable
area (city) or outsourcing services with a specific angle nationwide
or to a larger territory.
But first,
let me go over a few points which are elementary to web design
for any accounting firm or financial service.
The Internet's
potential still largely unutilised by the accounting industry
Although a communication
line for the masses, the Internet is yet little utilised by the
accounting industry as a medium for acquiring prospective clients.
While many
accounting firms commission web designers to create a beautiful
web site, it is not going to do anything for their MARKETING
ONLINE unfortunately.
All you receive
there is a nice brochure which won't be found unless you point
each person to your web site.
It's great
to have such a visually splendid presence to which you can direct
clients, associates and networking partners. And for those it
will perform a statement in terms of its quality of visual appearance.
But it's the
CONTENT I speak of when I say there aren't accountancy web sites
that would be built for marketing on the Internet.
In fact, I've
yet to see an accountancy-related web site that's truly intelligently
devised from THAT viewpoint.
Let me explain
this.
Internet as
a medium of searching for accounting -related content
The Internet
is a gigantic jumble of web pages, whose organising is left to
search engines.
No one really
knows how many web pages exist but estimates vary in BILLIONS.
At this writing,
there are about 100-200 million commercial web sites online,
each with many pages... topped with governmental and private
web sites.
Suffice to
say it's a LOT.
A lot of WHAT?
Content. A
lot of CONTENT, information, data, readable text, knowledge...
CONTENT.
And that's
what people look for online. Searching through a search engine
is the way everyone finds what they're looking for on the Internet.
Thus, your
site must be such that it OPTIMISES that aspect of the nature
of the Internet. It must be FOUND easily by the right people
who LOOK FOR YOUR EXPERTISE.
The Internet
started off as a military installation, after which it became
a network of researching and/or finding data for the academic
world... after which in 1994 through the invention of
the World Wide Web (hence the "www" in web addresses)
making the uploading and viewing of IMAGES possible it
became a public domain.
At first then,
the Internet was only TEXT.
Today, it's
a lot about images, layouts, visual design and so on.
But here's
the thing: The indexing of all this data still occurs through
the TEXT that's on the web page and the web site.
Images mean
practically nothing to a search engine.
For the first,
you can give an image any name you want and a search engine robot
has NO way of SEEING the image, so it discounts the names of
images as practically irrelevant.
That's to say,
it does NOT consider the name of the image file any indication
of the CONTENT of that web page or web site.
And for the
second, using the TEXT and text links available on your site
is the ONLY way a search engine CAN deduct WHAT your web page
and site are all about.
The purpose
of search engines is to INDEX web pages based on CONTENT or,
to be more precise, "relevancy of content in regards to
what is being searched."
In other words,
when you go to a search engine and type "accountancy marketing"
or "CPA marketing" in the search box and click the
button, the search engine will bring you the results in the ORDER
OF RELEVANCY to that subject.
If your site
is on the FIRST page of the search engines results, it has a
good chance of being found. If it's among the top 3-5 then you
will receive lots of visitors.
If it's NOT
among the top 10-20 then no-one will find it. And if no targeted
visitors find your site then the web site is not going to produce
any leads, contacts, prospects or other opportunities.
Now, with billions
of web pages and millions more being created every week
search engines employ ROBOTS (special software called
"crawler" whose function is to follow links and report
content back to the search engine index) to roam the Internet
as it visits (and revisits) millions of pages daily.
While there
are many "whizz kids" about claiming they know the
secret formulae that search engines use to define relevancy,
the fact remains that there is only ONE CERTAIN WAY to be found
on searches:
CONTENT.
There's no
substitute for genuine content on the subject matter.
That's what
search engines recognise as top relevancy because your article
will inevitably use a lot of other words related to the search
term, which combined with the EXTENT of the text on the page
tells the search engine that this is very relevant to the specific
search term in question.
And that's
what utilisation of the Internet for accounting service marketing
is all about.
If your web
site has unique and rich content then each of its pages is guaranteed
to reach the top or near the top of the searches on the key word
being used in THAT article on THAT page.
If you have
20 articles each on its own web page, of course
whose subjects are each concentrating on one key word or phrase
then you're going to be found by most people who search on the
Internet for information relevant to that search term.
Yet search
engine optimization is but a SECONDARY objective in creating
web site content.
Is your accounting
web site interesting, does it elicit action on the part of its
visitors?
Let's not forget
the most important issue here, namely your web site visitors.
Of course your
site needs to be optimised for search terms so it will be found.
Otherwise, why bother with content, if no-one ever visits the
pages, right?
But just as
obviously, the web site content must be such that it truly INTERESTS
your intended visitor so that it begets ACTION and produces viable
leads and contacts from parties interested in what you're offering.
It must be
UNIQUE content, for a couple of reasons.
First and foremost,
only unique content interests people for obvious reasons.
Secondly, it
must be unique in its APPROACH to the subject AND to the visitor,
for else you won't captivate the reader. And lastly, search engines
actually penalise identical or near-duplicate web pages and downgrade
their relevance factor.
Your web site
content must be absorbing, it must charm the visitor, it has
to captivate his imagination, engross him into the benefits and
opportunities brought to light by your rendition of the subject...
...your text
must produce some realisations in his mind, bring him some ideas,
explain former failures so that his goals are revitalised...
...and so on.
This type of
authoring is light-years ahead the crude tricks of those "search
engine optimising experts" who just repeat key words on
your site.
Your content
needs to invigorate, energise, stimulate, encourage the readers
while educating them discreetly on the subject, thus PROMPTING
ACTION.
There's
no point wasting money to optimise your web site unless its content
is of such unique quality that it produces results.
Content creation
is done FIRST from that viewpoint and only then one goes over
the text to plant a moderate number of specific key words into
it to ensure optimal search engine placement.
High-quality
content alone will get your web page ranked high, unless you
attempt to trick the search engines, in which case you're shooting
yourself in the foot, of course.
Unique, highly
innovative, and interesting content.
That's the
most important factor in successful Internet marketing of your
financial services.
And that's
also the value you receive by using HDK Bespoke Accountancy Web
Design Service.
HDK Bespoke
Accountancy Web Design Service
This service
includes web design but with moderate design ambitions as the
goal is to acquire potential clients for your specific service
concept.
I'm not going
to go into it here but suffice to say that flashy visual design
works AGAINST the purpose of PROSPECTING more than FOR it.
I'll be happy
to explain this to you in person if you submit a quote request.
The main part
of the design is in creating the CONTENT of your web site. This
usually requires a few informative articles and careful planning
of HOW to present the specific service you want to promote.
Our Bespoke
Accountancy Web Design Service also includes web hosting for
your site and generally a turnkey solution.
Purpose of HDK
Bespoke Accountancy Web Design Service
The purpose
of this service is twofold.
For one, its
idea is to take ONE special service idea or model and work with
that ONLY. The site can have additional pages presenting additional
services but its main concentration must be on ONE aspect alone.
This is how
marketing on the Internet works. Most commercial sites go with
the "jack of all trades, expert of none" -approach
and then wonder why their site produces nothing but expenses.
It matters
not WHY they do so, be it ignorance or greed or "knowing
best" or whatever.
It only matters
that they FAIL.
They fail because
they try to get it all without understanding the nature of the
Internet.
The Internet
works as a huge encyclopaedia or a gigantic index of quadrillions
of bits of information, each classified by its RELEVANCY to various
subjects... and that's why specialisation works online.
The more SPECIALISED
a web page is on a specific subject, the more the other pages
on the same site are ALSO related to that subject... well, the
higher the relevancy, right?
Yet you continually
see these silly sites offering a wide variety of not directly
related services or goods on the same site.
That's their
choice naturally. It won't do them any good, of course... but
it will leave the field largely without competition for those
who have the insight to invest in a unique and content-rich web
site specialising on one issue or aspect or niche market only.
The second
purpose of the HDK Bespoke Accountancy Web Design Service is
to COOPERATE with you in MARKETING your web site and developing
it further.
Specialised,
unique and rich content is the basis of high page ranking for
your site and it is inevitably the factor that weighs most in
attracting targeted visitors to your site.
However, there
are additional methods of marketing on the Internet that should
be employed to ensure your site gets a high ranking as soon as
possible.
Such methods
include an energetic link exchange programme (contacting web
sites with related subject matter to reciprocate links), approaching
various forums and associations to offer article content for
their use (with a link back to your site on each article) and
even carefully selective postings on suitable online forums which
are relevant to your web site's area of specialisation.
Thus, the HDK
Bespoke Accountancy Web Design Service is in two parts.
The first involves
the CREATION of your web site, including...
|
- |
reserving a suitable
domain name for you and hosting for the web site |
|
- |
designing the
overall visual image of the web site |
|
- |
interviewing you
in a brief to acquire the specialisation angle and technical
data |
|
- |
reporting back
to you in writing for your approval, comments, corrections and
additions |
|
- |
creating the strategy
for your service offer online (how it's presented, what is the
next step for the visitor, etc.) and having you approve these |
|
- |
creating the article
content of the web site and posting these on your site along
with images (layout of pages) |
|
- |
creating newsletter
issues (if included in the quote) for your approval |
|
- |
all technical
programming and other such issues involving your web site |
|
- |
implementing the
corrections to the web pages according to your instructions... |
... to name
a few.
The second
part of HDK Bespoke Accountancy Web Design Service involves
the MARKETING of your web site, including...
|
- |
submitting it
to major search engines |
|
- |
designing the
overall visual image of the web site |
|
- |
a briefing with
you on your marketing preferences to be used within the project |
|
- |
acquiring a set
number of reciprocal links from related sites (of your choice)
on monthly basis |
|
- |
searching the
Internet for suitable parties to post articles and/or offer newsletter
issues for publication |
|
- |
creating new newsletter
and/or site content as agreed |
|
- |
webmastering your
site per as agreed |
|
- |
reporting the
results back to you on monthly basis... |
...and other
necessary tasks.
Thus, this
is truly a turnkey solution as it requires very little of your
time.
Only where
absolutely necessary will we bother you.
You won't have
to create any lists or plans, we will interview you and create
the plans for your approval, thus making it much easier than
if you had to start from scratch.
And we won't
bother you with questions on HOW something should be done unless
absolutely necessary AND then we will do it by explaining the
alternatives and SUGGESTING a preference, thus bearing our responsibility
as the creator of the web site.
What your bespoke
accounting / finance web site can do for you
Creating a unique
web site with exceptional content AND procuring a high
search engine placement for it cannot be achieved overnight.
There are billions of web pages trying to achieve the same thing...
of which 99% only succeed in making a mess and giving Internet
marketing a bad name.
But because
they try so hard, search engines have developed a definite conservatism
toward new web sites. They take their own good time before becoming
excited about the relevance of your site, regardless of how pertinent
or unique its information.
The longer
your site is marketed AND the longer it stays online, the more
its relevance will increase and soon you'll have the top position
on the search engine in your main keyword.
I know for I've done it several times with my own web sites.
But it takes
some effort, some time.
Equally a content-rich
web site cannot be created in a day or two. It takes a lot of
work to make it the best there is so that your online presence
has a forever brightening future.
This is the
truth about web marketing through content-rich sites, despite
the best claims of many a peddler selling "great-looking
web sites" of identical and/or poor content by the dozen.
But if you
DO invest in a throughly unique and content-rich site, one whose
angle is specialised, AND if you ensure it is also marketed properly
(and legally and ethically), then you can expect something quite
positive.
Eventually,
your web site will produce prospective clients of good quality
on weekly basis. Potential clients who spend hours of their own
time READING your online materials ARE DEFINITELY INTERESTED.
They're also
active, motivated and likely to buy.
Now, that perhaps
doesn't sound like anything magical. But do the math and calculate
what it would mean to obtain 4-10 new prospective clients most
weeks throughout the year... how much would it cost if you commissioned
a telemarketing agency to procure those contacts...
...and don't
forget that your contacts are SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER, which means
a higher sales closing ratio AND more enjoyable cooperation with
clients.
Your web site
pulls them in AND trains them to appreciate your specific talent
and the unique qualities of your service. Therefore these prospects
are by far of higher quality than anything you could acquire
through any other means of marketing.
And then there's
the BIG advantage that bespoke accountancy / financial service
web site has as a way of producing potential clients:
It won't stop.
It will just keep on going, once the initial investment has been
made and your site is up there on top of search engine listings.
In fact, it
will EXPAND. Year after year... and all without you having to
do ANYTHING. No actions required, no costs to pay.
You just handle
your potential clients as they come and everything else will
take care of itself!
So what you
can win is a form of "automatic marketing" practically
at no cost after the initial investment, a continuous flow of
good quality prospects increasing year after year.
Think what
you could do with that.
